Job Overview: The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for completing a specified number of Evaluator, Operator Qualification (OQ), and Drug & Alcohol assessments each year, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of OQ and Drug & Alcohol Policies, and the ability to effectively communicate, interpret, and apply them to meet client and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operator Qualification Plans Management: Oversee and update written Operator Qualification plans for various operators, ensuring they remain compliant with current standards.
  • Client Onboarding Support: Assist in onboarding new clients, ensuring they understand and are aligned with necessary regulatory processes and compliance requirements.
  • Annual Program Review Meetings: Conduct annual reviews of the Operator Qualification program with operator clients to ensure continued compliance and alignment.
  • Client Support: Provide assistance in adding/revising covered tasks, developing task granting matrices, and revising OQ-related procedures.
  • Interface with Clients: Assist clients with day-to-day queries, providing regulatory support, and gathering required information in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with all Veriforce departments to ensure consistent and efficient processes and to share relevant updates.
  • Platform Navigation: Become proficient in navigating and utilizing the Verisource and Web Management Site, and stay updated with new platforms as they are introduced.
  • Knowledge of Tools and Procedures: Develop an understanding of the tools used by the team to complete daily tasks, ensuring smooth execution of responsibilities.
  • Information Security Compliance: Adhere to the organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS) program to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Regulatory Inspections: Participate in regulatory inspections of clients, both at their headquarters and in the field, ensuring compliance is upheld.
  • Regulatory Assessments/Inspections: Conduct regulatory assessments and inspections for Operator clients, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Communication of Regulatory Issues: Communicate any regulatory-related issues or changes to Operator and Contractor clients, ensuring they are informed and compliant.
  • Client and Steering Committee Meetings: Participate in client meetings and steering committee meetings, following up on any necessary actions or changes.
  • Task and Policy Communication: Assist in the communication of OQ-related task changes, policy revisions, and regulatory compliance issues to clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance Support: Assist clients with all areas of regulatory compliance, including OQ, CRM, D&A, O&M, IMG, Public Awareness, and Damage Prevention.
  • Common Covered Tasks Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of common covered tasks to ensure standardization across operations.
  • Internal Regulatory Guidance: Provide regulatory and technical support, guidance, and oversight to Veriforce staff to ensure consistent compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions related to Evaluator, regulatory, and other OQ-related subjects, ensuring staff and clients are knowledgeable and up-to-date.
  • Training Materials Review: Review and provide feedback on Veriforce-related training materials to ensure they are relevant and effective.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of regulatory activities within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is required.
  • Experience: Strong knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations is essential to assist operators and contractors with compliance requirements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of Information Security systems and related resources to support information security processes.
  • Pipeline Experience: Experience in pipeline operations and pipeline regulatory requirements is preferred, providing insight into the nuances of regulatory compliance in the industry.
