About KOSTAL Group
The story of Vaylens is a journey of evolution, born from a pioneering spirit in the electric vehicle charging industry. Its roots trace back to 2009, a time when the mass production of electric cars was just on the horizon. Even then, the foundational team was building its first charging station, which remarkably was the first in Germany to communicate with charging management software. This early innovation set the stage for a company that would consistently push the boundaries of what's possible in e-mobility. By 2018-2019, the company had achieved another significant milestone, becoming the first to obtain legal compliance for the billing of both AC and DC charging stations and introducing an ad-hoc payment system using German debit cards. This focus on simplifying the user experience and the back-end management for operators became a core tenet of their mission.
The narrative took a significant turn in 2021-2022 with the strategic acquisition of e-mobility pioneers Wallbe and Innogy. This move diversified the company's portfolio, allowing for a specialized focus on charging hardware on one hand, and the sophisticated software to manage it on the other. This entity, then known as Compleo Charging Software GmbH, continued to innovate. The most recent chapter in this journey began in June 2024, when the software division was rebranded and established as Vaylens GmbH, a sister company to Compleo under the umbrella of the KOSTAL Group. This strategic separation allows Vaylens to operate as a hardware-independent software provider, focusing entirely on developing powerful, user-friendly SaaS solutions. Today, Vaylens is dedicated to empowering businesses to efficiently manage and monetize their EV charging infrastructure, making electric mobility an accessible and integral part of a sustainable business future across Europe.
