Development Program Manager for Freshwater

The Development Program Manager for Freshwater will apply advanced skills to a functional team of organizational priority within a development program. The team will be responsible for providing organizational resources such as prospect management, coordination, tracking, and stewardship, etc.

The Development Program Manager for Freshwater will work towards supporting the strategic resourcing of the TNC Global Freshwater Program and priority freshwater work to advance TNC’s 2030 Freshwater goals. The Development Program Manager will coordinate, track, communicate, and align tactics across a dispersed, cross-functional, and international team of fundraisers and Freshwater Program Leadership to drive and measure resourcing. This includes completing and organizing diverse tasks and activities. They will identify and help address the internal fundraising alignment needs of freshwater-related programs or areas of focus (e.g. geographies, priorities, joint programs, tech initiative). They will manage, track and report on key data related to the team scope and priorities. The Development Program Manager will report to the ADoDO and perform complex analysis on key organizational data, which may include donor or gift information. They will provide advice, recommendations, information, materials, and training related to the functional area of the team, supporting a defined fundraising plan. The Program Manager must be an expert in the systems and resources utilized by the team and apply knowledge to providing organizational support and designing communications. They will have substantial contact with stakeholders and serve as a liaison with partners. They take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, such duties may include, but are not limited to, leading training initiatives, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. They will work across Conservancy chapters and programs to explore and pursue opportunities for freshwater funding with RMs in other business units, in the U.S. and globally. The Program Manager will keep up to date on market trends and best practices in order to improve services. They will analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions in order to improve effectiveness. They will coordinate information, reporting, and help foresee meeting opportunities, working closely with Global Freshwater Leadership and globally dispersed fundraisers. They will collaborate with appropriate partners (across Freshwater, Global Development Operations and other teams), keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns, communicate major funding needs and direct questions as appropriate. They will be required to use the Conservancy’s donor database.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience managing, implementing, and tracking multiple initiatives.
• Experience tracking fundraising activity, generating reports and analyzing data, and data presenting it to others.
• Experience aligning internal agreements.
• Experience with current technology in in fundraising operations, development research and reporting.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of fundraising operations, development research and reporting

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $77.900 – $115,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
