Company Introduction

This organization is a national platform delivering turnkey water, wastewater, and water reuse solutions across municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Founded in 2003 and now operating across North America, the company has grown into a leader in modular and decentralized water treatment, anchored by proprietary membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, advanced jet aeration and mixing systems, and custom-engineered fabrication. Through a series of strategic acquisitions and the recent launch of next-generation permanent concrete modular wastewater systems, the organization is rapidly expanding its national footprint and product portfolio. The company is led by a seasoned CEO with a track record of scaling multibillion-dollar industrial platforms, and is in active growth mode with significant investment in commercial, operational, and technology infrastructure.

This role drives the full sales and proposal process across all lines of business including water, wastewater, and water reuse projects, with a heavy focus on building a strong pipeline of new accounts and developing manufacturer's representative relationships across municipal and industrial markets. The ideal candidate brings a deep water industry background, established relationships across California water districts, consulting engineers, and industrial end-users, and a consultative sales style that allows them to credibly engage with engineers, operators, and decision-makers. This is a high-autonomy, hunter-oriented role suited to a sales professional who thrives in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment and is excited to represent a differentiated portfolio of modular water reuse and treatment technologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits to gather project requirements and collaborate with internal engineering teams on conceptual design and proposal development.
  • Drive leads to closure through disciplined sales process management, technical consultation, and value-based selling.
  • Develop deep working knowledge of the company's modular MBR systems, jet aeration and mixing technology, custom-fabricated equipment, and permanent concrete modular wastewater solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, technical conferences, and association events including Cal-Nevada AWWA, CWEA, and CASA.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and proposal teams to deliver tailored, technically sound solutions to municipal and industrial customers.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, and activity records using CRM tools.
  • Develop and execute a territory plan with a defined customer visit cadence prioritized by revenue potential and strategic fit.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts in alignment with company margin and growth objectives.

Required Background

  • 5+ years of water treatment sales experience selling into one or more of the following markets: municipal water/wastewater, food and beverage industrial, or residential development.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, related technical field, or equivalent water industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with consultative, technical sales involving engineers, operators, and project decision-makers.
  • Established network of relationships within the California water industry, including water districts, consulting engineering firms, industrial end-users, and manufacturer's representatives.
  • Proven track record of new business development including cold prospecting, pipeline building, and consistent quota attainment.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and credibly represent complex water and wastewater treatment technologies including modular MBR systems, aeration, and reuse infrastructure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with comfort presenting to technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to operate effectively in a remote, autonomous role with frequent travel.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned territory.
  • Must reside in California.
  • Water industry licenses or certifications a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience at a competing modular water OEM, equipment supplier into water treatment plants, or transition from a municipal operations or engineering background welcomed.
