Job Summary
UChicago Consortium is seeking a Senior Advisor to provide guidance to the Equitable Learning and Development Group in developing and leading a nationally focused research agenda that centers student and educator experiences in schools. The Senior Advisor should have an established national reputation as a leader in the field of education research, with a proven track record as a scholar with a quality body of work. A Senior Advisor will have been successful at identifying and obtaining funding for research projects. He or she has relationships with local and national educational policymakers, school administrators and practitioners, funders, and other researchers. This position is part-time and fully remote.Responsibilities
Serve as an advisor to ELDG in the development and execution of their research agenda and mission around centering student and educator experiences in schools.
Provide technical and outreach guidance to ELDG and other researchers at the Consortium.
Engage with a diverse set of stakeholders, including funders, policymakers, individuals in Chicago schools, the University of Chicago, and state and national educational research organizations and stimulate evidence-driven discourse about the vital issues facing schools and communities.
Support the growth and development of the Consortium and ELDG, participate in goal setting and strategic planning, and help to advance the Consortium’s mission as a national model for producing highly rigorous and relevant education research.
Follows large caseload of study participants from study screening through end-of-study evaluations, including all necessary source documentation and data collection/entry.
Assists in establishing standard operating procedures for continuous review and development of quality improvement plans for our unit. Advances research objectives through participation in professional committees and presentations. Ensures timely reporting of research data, following study-specific guidelines.
Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.---

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Doctoral degree in education, public policy, economics, sociology, or other relevant social science or mathematical discipline.
Experience:
Eight years of related experience in urban education research, policy, and practice.
Impact on educational research through at least 10 publications (books, articles, reports, or book chapters).

Commitment to understanding and improving outcomes for students of all backgrounds and experiences.
