We are a global technology company with a rich history of innovation that spans over a century. Our journey began in 1920 as Edward E. Rosen & Co., initially focusing on manufacturing high-quality headphones and loudspeakers. By 1925, we became Ultra Electric Ltd., a name that would become synonymous with cutting-edge electronics. In the 1930s, we were at the forefront of radio technology, launching our first all-electric radio receiver and producing numerous domestic models. The Second World War saw us pivot our expertise to the aviation sector, where we contributed to the war effort by manufacturing essential fuselage elements and engine components. Following the war, we transitioned back to civilian markets, venturing into television production in the 1950s. Our consumer electronics division eventually became a part of Thorn Electrical Industries in 1961. After a period as part of the Dowty Group, we re-emerged as an independent entity through a management buyout in 1993, and we've been publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange since 1996.

Today, we are a key player in the defence, security, critical detection, and control markets. We pride ourselves on being investigators, problem solvers, and relentless explorers, using our know-how and ingenuity to protect what matters most. Our work involves providing application-engineered solutions to our customers' most complex challenges. We operate through several specialized business units, including Maritime, Intelligence & Communications, Precision Control Systems, and Energy. From advanced sonar and radar systems for naval defence to sophisticated cybersecurity and electronic warfare solutions, our technologies provide a critical advantage to our partners. We are committed to our 'One Ultra' strategy, which focuses on collaboration and integration across our businesses to drive innovation and deliver comprehensive solutions. As part of Cobham and under the ownership of Advent International since 2022, we continue to invest in research and development, pushing the boundaries of technology to ensure a safer and more secure world. Our team of over 4,500 dedicated professionals worldwide is the driving force behind our success, and we are constantly seeking brilliant thinkers to join us in solving the complex problems of tomorrow.
