Our Database Engineer position is great for an individual who is self-motivated, has a love of learning, and is collaborative. In this position you will help drive data management, lead in the creation of databases, including design, implementation, and optimization. You will contribute to the maintenance and administration of data models, participate in client-driven mapping sessions, and collaborate with the Agile team.
Job Duties:
- Importing and exporting data between different database languages
- Develop scalable data integrations
- Develop and maintain robust and accurate end-to-end knowledge of business processes and application procedures
- Data modeling, normalization, and conceptual and logical design
- Regularly archive source code in GIT, code repository, for projects
- Collaborate with the Product team in creation of Acceptance Criteria for stories following Agile practices
- Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve overall product/solution
- Interface with geographically disperse teams across the United States
Required Experience:
- Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation, including spatial queries
- Familiarity in data engineering concepts including ETL, processing, data warehousing, and data modeling
- Experience using ETL tools and frameworks for data pipeline development
- Experience working with database tools in AWS (S3, DMS, EC2)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with big data computing
Preferred experience:
- Familiarity with Geospatial Database concepts a plus
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Experience working on an Agile team a plus
- Working in repositories, specifically GIT
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience required
