We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team. This role offers the unique opportunity to engage in a broad range of accounting projects for a company that is in growth mode with several recent acquisitions and more in the pipeline. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency within our fast-paced environment.

Location: (Remote, some travel periodically required)

Salary Range: $88,000 - $120,000

Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycles in alignment with GAAP
  • Sales & use tax monthly filing for 6+ states.
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Manage accounts receivables and customer deposits.
  • Oversight of inventory management and margin analysis.
  • Workpaper preparation and external audit readiness.
  • General Ledger management and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist Controller with financial and tax audits.
  • Compile and analyze financial results and variances, and partner with business unit leads to ensure accurate representation of performance
  • Fixed Asset and depreciation management.
  • Assisting with developing and improving accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with fellow accounting team members on other special projects and system implementations.
  • In-venue audits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Proven process improvement initiative and execution.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and project deadlines.
  • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working remotely and staying virtually connected with teammates.

Preferred Qualification Experience:

  • Using accounting software and database systems.
  • In the hospitality or food service industry.
  • with system changes/implementation a plus (ERP, POS, AP tools, etc).
  • with acquisitions (travel may be required).
