In 2023, Trinity expanded its service offerings to include the management of organ placement, transplant coordination, and referral intake services for contracted customer programs nationwide. These services are an extension of the customer’s core professional team, providing valuable support to allow in-house coordinators to focus on their daily transplant responsibilities. Our Organ Placement Coordinators provide 24/7 coverage, managing services from the initial donor organ offer through the post-transplant recipient phase of a life-saving transplant and supporting research through referral intake. We fully support our partner organizations through effective communication, collaboration, continuous quality improvement and reliable partnerships to ensure highly successful programs.
Work Location: Remote
Schedule: Available for both 12 and 24-hour shift models. Rotating schedule covering day, night, weekend and holiday call.
Salary: Starting at $70,000, with room to increase based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities of an Organ Placement Coordinator
- Readily available for assigned call shifts to ensure 24/7/365 coverage for contracted partners
- Maintain uninterrupted access to cellular and Wi-Fi service and must have contingency plan to maintain continuous services while on call
- Serve as a liaison between multiple stakeholders involved in the transplant process
- Promptly respond to donor offers or referrals
- Strict adherence with all contracted customer and UNOS/OPTN policies
- Compliant with all assigned company, UNOS, and contracted customer mandatory trainings
- Review donor and/or recipient charts to collect appropriate information for offer presentation to physicians
- Assign appropriate refusal codes as directed by physician on call or by set forth criteria · Demonstrate adherence to contracted customer workflows
- Upon acceptance, coordinate transplant as outlined in specific transplant center workflows
- Accurately documents progress on case acceptances real-time in TOPS standardized templates
- Provide thorough shift hand off with standardized template, as well as phone communication of accepted cases
- Timely delisting of patients in accordance to OPTN policy
- Maintain customer-based application access for each assigned contract, periodically logging in to ensure uninterrupted access
- Real-time use of Budibase entry, as necessary
- Train and support other staff members as assigned
- Aid in the development of team educational information
- Engage in process improvement opportunities
- Participate in educational activities and meetings
- Perform other duties as requested by service line leadership
Qualifications & Skills of an Organ Placement Coordinator
- OPO or transplant center background
- Experience working in acute care setting, such as ICU, Emergency Department and/or transplant floors
- Knowledgeable navigating various forms of electronic medical records and Donor Net/UNOS Waitlist
- Allied health professional certification or professional degree
- Function well and often under pressure and in circumstances where critical thinking is necessary
- Strong ability to multi-task
