We are seeking a person who identifies as being disabled or as having a long-term chronic illness/impairment and has a passion for diversity and inclusion with a particular focus on accessibility and disability issues and perspectives. The successful candidate will work closely with our Accessibility and Inclusion manager planning and coordinating projects and initiatives that support the company’s wider Accessibility and Inclusion strategic actions. This is a fully remote position; we value both flexible and inclusive working practices.

Tasks

Responsibilities

  • Lead on inclusivity and accessibility projects that align to the company’s accessibility and inclusion strategy
  • Champion and promote best practice across the company, with particular focus on product development, marketing, PR, and HR.
  • Regular monitoring and analysis of internal data including but not limited to diversity and employee satisfaction data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for future strategies to improve and enhance our accessibility and inclusion strategies – both internally and externally.
  • Develop knowledge of legislation, regulation and Government policy within the transport industry related to accessibility and end-users experiences, and effectively communicate this throughout the company
  • Support with the business development activitiesChampion best practice in disability equality and accessibility within our supply chain and partners.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Knowledge of Equity, diversity and inclusion, including a personal and professional commitment to these
  • Knowledge of disability issues and a range of perspectives/models including the Social Model of Disability and different cultural perspectives
  • Lived experience of disability/chronic illness
  • Excellent knowledge of the importance of accessibility
  • Strong understanding of equality legislation
  • Experience of planning and delivering presentations
  • Ability to work with data
  • Project management experience, organisational skills and managing deadlines
  • Team player attitude
  • Confident advocate of the social model of disability, intersectionality and key political concepts
  • Well versed and up to date with disability rights issues, campaign priorities related to transport and emerging consumer expectations.

The salary of this role will be £25,000-£30,000.

Interview process:

Stage 1 – Online discovery call with the hiring manager - this will last no longer than 15 minutes.

Stage 2 – Short activity to see your skillset and your style of working.

Stage 3 – You will be invited to a more in-depth interview with the Accessibility and Inclusion Manager and wider team that will cover specific questions about your relevant experience that will last no longer than 60 minutes.

Stage 4 – A call with members from our senior management team.
