Oversees the gathering of requirements from users and stakeholders and guides development of the overall information architecture. Leads the creation of new features based on the results from user research and usability testing.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll manage a talented team of designers, driving both day-to-day performance and long-term strategic growth. Your contributions will directly influence key organizational milestones, design decisions, and budget considerations, while collaborating across departments to resolve escalated issues and ensure project objectives are met on time and with quality.

Job Responsibilities:
• Hands-On Design: Tackle high-impact UX challenges directly—this is a “lead by doing” role
• Design Leadership: Define and evolve UX strategy as the product and company scale
• Cross-Functional Creativity: Partner closely with senior leadership, product owners and technology team
• Lean Research & Validation: Conduct lightweight usability tests, rapid prototyping, and early adopter interviews
• User-centered Focus: Understand user needs and advocate for users, with a track record for translating insights into product improvements
• Establish Design Principles: Develop simple style guides and reusable design components to keep things consistent
• Team Leadership: Lead and grow a team of UI/UX designers across multiple financial reporting projects. Oversee the performance and development of 2 FTEs and 2 contract designers while fostering collaboration and professional growth.

About You:
• 6-8 years of UX design experience, including 1–2 years leading or mentoring teams
• Proficiency in lean design tools like Figma, Miro, Webflow, and prototyping platforms
• Deep understanding of design systems, especially Material UI and components-based design
• Strong communication skills—especially when explaining design value to non-designers
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments with limited resources
• Familiarity with startup metrics (activation, retention, engagement, churn)
• You've worked on a product from 0 to 1, or scaled an MVP post-launch
• Experience in developer tools, B2B SaaS, or consumer apps
• You’ve designed for AI-enhanced user experiences

How We Measure Success:
• Shorter time-to-validation for new product ideas
• High adoption and satisfaction from early users
• Growth of a cohesive design team and scalable UX processes
• Tangible influence on product and business decisions

We understand that your skills deserve recognition. That's why we offer a competitive base pay scale ranging from $155,000 to $205,000, based on experience and expertise. We believe in compensating our dedicated team members fairly for their hard work and commitment. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
