Are you passionate about making a difference through the power of apprenticeships?
Are you ready to join a pacey, progressive organisation that's all about its people?
We're Tiro - a leading provider of science and technology apprenticeships. We've got big ambitions and are looking for a Work Based Learning Coach to join our team to support learners through their Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification. In particular, we would love to hear from applicants with a background in Polymer Manufacturing.
We’ve been helping hungry apprentices to join ambitious businesses since 2005. At Tiro, we really believe that great apprenticeships help everyone. Because there are remarkable apprentices out there just waiting to be found, and fantastic employment opportunities waiting to be filled. But our work will never be just about getting bums on seats and pocketing our commission. In our own small way, we’re helping to change the world – finding people that are working on COVID vaccines, finding new ways for technology to help humanity and helping to tackle the big issues of the day, like climate change. We’re proud to be playing our part in making that happen, and we’re looking for more like-minded people to join team Tiro.
The Role
You’ll tenaciously drive the progress of your learners, keeping them on track to complete their training programme. Combining your lab testing or materials testing industry expertise and technical knowledge of laboratory skills, alongside first-class coaching and training skills, you’ll support your learners to embed workplace experiences, ensuring knowledge transfer which accelerates their competency in the workplace.
You'll be a strong relationship builder who's always got the best interests of your learners at heart. By partnering with learners, employers and workplace mentors, you'll constantly be striving for success and pushing for the best outcomes for those you support.
Please note - as part of the role, you will be required to travel to support and coach learners across different locations.
About You
In this role, we're looking for someone who is obsessed with all things science and can't wait to share their knowledge and experience with the next generation of Laboratory Technicians. You will be able to bring laboratory technician concepts and information to life to inspire your learners to apply their newfound skills in the workplace. You'll have a passion for learning and thrive on seeing those 'lightbulb' moments happen!
You’ll be happiest when in our customers' labs and facilities across the UK with learners and other stakeholders watching learning come to life.
You'll be a self-starter who thrives in a pacey environment. You'll be an excellent collaborator who loves nothing more than working alongside your teammates to achieve success. You'll rise to the challenge and never shy away from sharing feedback. You’ll give the role your all, be unafraid to take the odd calculated risk, and will fundamentally challenge us, because if you don’t change Tiro, you can’t succeed.
Safeguarding
This role involve contact with learners from 16 year old upwards. Tiro is committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all of our learners, staff and customers. We fully recognise our responsibilities for protecting vulnerable groups. It is the policy of Tiro to promote the safety, health and well-being of all children, young people and adults at risk that we works with – both directly and indirectly. We respect, value and listen to everyone as an individual. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken as part of your application for this role and if you're successful, you'll be required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service ("DBS") for the position. Failure to declare any convictions (that are not subject to DBS filtering) may disqualify you from joining Tiro.
