Overview
- Tier One Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Developer with SIT & CAT testing expertise for our US Government client.
- This will be a 100% remote contract-to-hire position.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Write and implement efficient code, develop quality assurance procedures and deploy software tools, processes and metrics.
- Work closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.
- Act as team leader on projects and participate in development of software user manuals.
- Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.
- Consult with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
- Analyze existing Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS and FTP application objects documenting current processes ensuring the information is accurate and provide business requested requirements when needed.
- Refresh the Mainframe SIT and CAT application environments with Production data when requested.
- Execute the Mainframe SIT and CAT batch processing cycles when requested and resolve any processing errors that may occur.
- Resolve all defects deemed critical for production before implementing.
- Ensure the Technology Solutions Life Cycle (TSLC) process is being followed by having the Software Architect along with the Business Owner(s) review and approve the SIT and CAT results before migrating into the Production environment.
- Update configuration diagrams and other documentation.
- Utilize an iterative development methodology and attend Agile ceremonies for all work done under this contract.
- Provide on-call and after hours support as required to support the production systems.
Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required
- 8+ years of COBOL, CICS, JCL, SQL, VSAM, DB2 development experience.
- Strong implementation background and ability to solve complex business requirements.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow).
- All candidates must be US Citizens or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
- Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
