Summary of Position:

The Corporate Counsel will have primary responsibility for contracts with customers (which are primarily state and local government entities and educational institutions) and vendors. As a member of a small legal department, the Corporate Counsel will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of other matters depending on experience, interest, and business needs. This is a part-time role expected to work approximately 25 hours per week.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers
  • Review and assist in preparing responses to RFPs
  • Review and negotiate vendor contracts

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; admission to a state bar.
  • 3 or more years of legal experience.
  • Experience in government contracts.
  • Strong drafting, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in privacy, intellectual property, and commercial contracts, prior law firm, government, or in-house experience, and familiarity with the education services industry or retail businesses preferred.

Salary: $52.40 per hour to $67.31 per hour, based on your experience level and your geographic zone.
