Summary of Position

As a Software Engineer in this position, you will develop new backend services, front end UI and work with existing backend services in support of our efforts to modernize our client configuration and management infrastructure. Ideal candidates willbe methodical, detail-oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills working with teams from a variety of backgrounds. You will use your Java skills to build software to ensure data integrity and proper validation of a complex and rich data model across business units in a distributed system, propagating data changes between different services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write Java code for Spring Boot backend services that integrate with existing and new backend services usingtechnologies such as HTTP, Kafka, and database technologies.

  • Support React front end application

  • Implement data validation routines and integrity checks to ensure data quality.

  • Assist in building a new, versioned data store for client configuration data includes audit logging and robust access rules and security.

  • Write software to reliably propagate data changes between systems, including systems from different business units and legacy systems.

  • Write automated tests to ensure code remains high quality throughout its life cycle.

  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure as part of agile development practices.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging, including in support of sporadic production issues

  • Design and implement new enhancements to the front and back-end systems to support new client config capabilities

Qualifications Expected

  • Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience writing Javaservices using APIs, messaging systems, databases, and automated testing.

  • Experience working on teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spring Framework

  • React

  • Microservices

  • Azure Cloud experience

  • Ruby on Rails and/or Python

  • Kafka and event sourced architectures

  • Business middleware software such as Salesforce and MuleSoft

  • Familiarity with Scala
