The Data Migration Engineer is a key role within the wider Data Migration team and is a critical interface to enable Target to achieve their growth plans within client portfolio onboarding.
You will be responsible for data migration and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle and will oversee and continually improve the migration process for new projects.
This includes the extraction, transformation and loading of data from various sources into Target systems.
More Specifically, you'll:
- Ensure Data Migration and project related tasks are carried out in cost effective manner and in accordance with client expectations, ensuring appropriate status reporting maintained throughout, including ownership of Migration DQ log where appropriate.
- Attend initial bid stage meetings and provide technical expertise & guidance for bid responses as required.
- Produce and maintain master Data Migration Strategy documents as and if required, amending as necessary to meet individual project requirements.
- Attend and facilitate workshops as required
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the SME on Data Migration
- Provide valuable input and guidance to the appropriate development teams and work closely with them to ensure successful delivery of technical solutions
- Maintain awareness of Target Data Security responsibilities
Requirements
What We're Looking For!
- Someone familiar with Data Analysis / Profiling techniques
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent, preferably with a computing based discipline (desirable)
- Knowledge of risk and issue identification and management.
- Understands how Data Mapping and Data Transformation fits into the Migration process
- Extensive experience with the software engineering life cycle for development and the concepts and practices required to implement effective IT solutions.
- Experience working with Agile development methodology
- Experience working in Finance and/or Insurance industry sectors.
- Understanding of the technical architecture and relevant technologies which underpin Target’s products
