Founded in 2001 by Emeric Préaubert, Christine Kolb, and Cyril Charlot, Sycomore Asset Management embarked on an entrepreneurial journey with a distinct vision: to humanize investment. From its inception, the firm specialized in listed investments, driven by a commitment to deliver long-term returns by identifying the sustainable value creation levers within companies. A significant milestone in Sycomore's evolution was the development of its sustainable development approach and the creation of a dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) unit within its investment team. This solidified its position as a pioneer in the ESG and Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) segment in France, which is Europe's largest market for such investment solutions. The firm's commitment to responsible investment was further demonstrated by the launch of thematic SRI funds focusing on human capital, green transition, and sustainable employment. In 2019, Sycomore Asset Management entered into a strategic partnership with Generali Investments Holding SpA, a move designed to support its ambition to become a leading European asset manager focused on SRI while allowing it to maintain its operational independence and entrepreneurial spirit. The following year, in 2020, Sycomore AM became a mission-led business and achieved B CorpTM certification, underscoring its dedication to positive societal impact and its mission to make investment more human. This transformation involved setting clear social and environmental goals, such as measuring and improving the environmental and social contribution of its investments and continuing the development of its SRI offering. Today, Sycomore Asset Management continues to innovate, for instance, by exploring the impacts of artificial intelligence on its investment universe and developing tools to measure the impact of investments on biodiversity in collaboration with other leading asset managers. The firm also established the Fondation Sycomore, which receives 1% of its operating revenue to help young people understand the corporate world.
