Summary of Role:SunPower Corporation is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its busy litigation group. The successful candidate will work on a variety of exciting matters, with a focus on consumer, insurance, employment, product, and construction-related matters. Under the guidance of the Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Employment, the successful candidate will track, support, and, where appropriate, resolve claims against SunPower, and will support all aspects of a matter from inception through final resolution. You will be a vital member of a team that boldly faces new challenges and never experiences a dull moment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support a large caseload of litigations from service of process through dismissal.
- Responsible for issuance of legal holds, case/fact investigation, document collection, coordination of counsel retention, e-discovery, notification of insurance carriers, drafting of tender letters, receipt and review of demand letters, reporting, budgeting and RFP processes.
- Able to conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for depositions and hearings
- Able to facilitate communication between outside internal and external counsel and business clients.
- Conduct first-level review drafts of legal documents, including motions and discovery responses, and provide substantive edits based on an understanding of SunPower’s business and the individualized issues presented in the case.
- Under the guidance of internal counsel, draft legal documents, including first drafts of legal letters and responses to consumer complaints, for review and use by attorneys and the business.
- Support affirmative recovery program including through the collection and interpretation of financial data, reports, including in support of internal early case assessments.
- Other matters as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- ABA-approved paralegal certification with a focus on litigation. (PLEASE MOVE TO PREFERRED)
- At least FIVE years of litigation experience in firm or in-house environments.
- Ability to meet and track deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.

- Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Thompson Reuters’ Legal Tracker and at least one e-discovery platform.

- Consumer and commercial collection, insurance, and foreclosure actions
- Direct client contact
- Providing advice and counsel to customer service teams and managers
- Claims handling in an insurance environment
