Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school or need an at-home or flexible learning environment. Today, Stellar Virtual spans across three states, Arizona, Indiana, and Texas, with new states introduced each year.

Overview
The Accelerated Instruction Specialist provides targeted instructional support to students
identified under HB 1416 as needing accelerated instruction due to not meeting grade-level
standards on STAAR assessments. The specialist delivers high-quality, TEKS-aligned
interventions, monitors student progress, and collaborates with teachers, families, and
administrators to ensure compliance with state mandates and promote student academic
success.
Essential Duties
- Deliver direct instruction to small groups of students requiring accelerated instruction in reading and/or math.
- Plan and implement lessons aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that address students' learning gaps.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, instructional hours, and student progress in compliance with HB 1416 requirements.
- Utilize formative assessment data to tailor instruction and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and instructional coaches to support and reinforce core instruction.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student participation, progress, and expectations.
- Support the campus in monitoring compliance with HB 1416, including documentation and data entry into designated systems.
- Attend required district training related to HB 1416 implementation and instructional best practices.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of HB 1416 support sessions.
- Serve as a campus resource for HB 1416 instructional strategies and requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 2 years successful teaching experience in a core content area.
- Experience working with small group instruction or intervention preferred.
- Familiarity with STAAR assessments and TEKS standards.
- Strong understanding of academic intervention practices and progress monitoring tools.
- Ability to build relationships and motivate students toward academic growth.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and learning platforms (e.g., Eduphoria, DMAC, or Seesaw)
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in a core content area (e.g., EC-6, 4-8, or Secondary Math/ELA).
- Reading or math intervention certification preferred.
