The Job:

As a Penetration Testing Engineer you’ll be part of our Cybersecurity Office (CSO) team located virtually. You’ll get to:

  • Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on internal and external applications, networks, and systems to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Employ various tools and methodologies to simulate cyber-attacks and assess the resilience of our infrastructure.
  • Perform secure code reviews to identify coding flaws that lead to security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform regular threat modeling and vulnerability assessments on internal and external assets to identify and prioritize potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Generate detailed and clear reports outlining discovered vulnerabilities, potential impacts, and recommended remediation strategies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of penetration testing procedures, methodologies, and results.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and IT support, to facilitate a proactive approach to security.
  • Provide expert guidance on application security to development teams by leveraging industry-acceptable secure software development standards, i.e., OWASP SAMM.
  • Influence developers to write secure code and implement secure engineering practices.

The Person:

  • Proficient in using penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
  • Solid understanding of web application security, network security, and various operating system security.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Node.JS, Python, or C/C++, .Net, Golang)
  • Experience conducting static code reviews and applying security auditing and/or dynamic scanning tools.
  • Working knowledge of OWASP Web/API vulnerabilities (CSRF, XSS, SQLI, etc.) and compensating controls
  • Knowledge of Web/API security architecture common authentication and authorization technologies (OAuth2, HMAC, WS-Security, WS-Trust) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of applied cryptography (Encryption, Authentication, Symmetric Cryptography, Asymmetric Cryptography etc.)
