Born from the collective vision of seasoned leaders in robotics and artificial intelligence, Stack AV embarked on its journey in 2023 with a clear mission: to revolutionize the trucking industry. The company's genesis lies in the extensive experience of its founders, Bryan Salesky (CEO), Peter Rander (President), and Brett Browning (CTO), who previously helmed Argo AI, a notable venture in autonomous passenger vehicle technology. Recognizing the evolving demands of global commerce and the critical need for more intelligent and reliable supply chains, they pivoted their focus to autonomous trucking, an area ripe for transformative innovation. With substantial backing from SoftBank Group Corp., Stack AV was launched with the capital, resources, and deep AI expertise necessary to accelerate its ambitious growth and technological development. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a burgeoning hub for robotics and AI, Stack AV quickly assembled a team of 150 experts across its main office and an additional 15 states, leveraging an innovative remote-work and co-working collaboration model.

Stack AV's core philosophy centers on addressing the long-standing challenges that have plagued the trucking industry. These include persistent driver shortages, inefficiencies in vehicle uptime, significant safety concerns, high operational costs, and the environmental impact of emissions. By developing and deploying sophisticated AI-powered autonomous driving systems, the company aims to create safer, more efficient, and more reliable freight transportation. Their proprietary technology, coupled with a rigorous approach to safe systems design and testing, is engineered to maximize truck uptime, optimize existing infrastructure, and significantly improve roadway safety. This commitment extends to creating smarter supply chains for their partners, enabling them to deliver goods to consumers faster and more securely. The leadership team's combined seven decades of experience in developing complex, autonomy-enabled systems provides a strong foundation for tackling the unique demands of the trucking industry and driving it towards a more technologically advanced and sustainable future.
