In 2019, four visionary engineers from the Technical University of Munich, the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich, and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences recognized a critical gap in the energy storage market: batteries were being recycled far too early, wasting valuable resources and undermining the potential of renewable energy. Dr. Nam Truong, Dr. Arthur Singer, Martin Sprehe, and Christoph Dietrich founded STABL Energy with a revolutionary approach - extending battery life cycles through innovative multilevel inverter technology that replaces conventional central inverters and battery management systems.

What began as a university project has evolved into an award-winning pioneer in resource-efficient energy storage, named a Top 100 Energy Startup globally and winner of the pv magazine Award 2025 in the BESS category. Their patented technology enables the safe and efficient use of second-life batteries from electric vehicles in stationary storage systems, achieving 99.8% battery efficiency while reducing efficiency losses by up to 70% compared to conventional models. From their headquarters in Munich, STABL Energy now employs over 80 people united by a passion for transforming the energy market and driving decarbonisation through circular economy principles that turn electronic waste into sustainable, CO2-saving energy solutions.
