This strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing an enterprise-wide data strategy spanning retail/mutual fund, retirement, and brokerage/subaccounting businesses. This role is a critical part of the long-term growth strategy for SS&C’s Global Investor & Distribution Solutions (GIDS) and Retirement Solutions (RS) businesses, with the dual mandate of fulfilling near-term client delivery commitments and building a long-term vision for our data product portfolio.

What You Will Get To Do:

The Head of Data Product Strategy – US will serve as a senior leader within the organization, accountable for establishing and executing a cohesive data product strategy that aligns with SS&C’s enterprise objectives. This individual will lead efforts to identify market opportunities, define product roadmaps, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative and commercially successful data and analytics solutions to our institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the US data product strategy spanning multiple business lines, ensuring alignment with overall company goals, market trends, and client needs.

• Product Development Oversight: Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management for data solutions—from ideation and business case development to delivery and market adoption.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Client Services to ensure cohesive execution and successful delivery of data capabilities.

• Market Analysis & Innovation: Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving data landscape within financial services and apply market intelligence to inform product direction and competitive positioning.

• Client Engagement: Represent SS&C in key client engagements, including pre-sales support, RFP responses, and strategic discussions focused on data and analytics.

• Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product managers and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

• Governance & Compliance: Ensure all data products meet regulatory and internal compliance standards, including privacy, security, and data governance requirements.

What You Will Bring:

• Industry Expertise: Minimum of 12 years of experience in product strategy, product management, or related roles within the financial services or fintech industry. Prior experience with asset management, subaccounting, retirement, and data platforms is strongly preferred.

• Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated success in setting strategic direction and delivering outcomes for complex data or technology-driven products.

• Technical Competence: Familiarity with data architecture, data governance, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies such as AI/ML, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

• Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing cross-functional teams and influencing across matrixed enterprise environments.

• Client-Facing Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels, including C-suite clients and internal executives.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Data/Technology) strongly preferred.
