We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing global Applications team as an Applications Scientist, to ideally be based near our India office in Faridabad (Delhi NCR) working mainly for the EU market. You'll be working to a UK timezone. An Applications Scientist serves as a key element of our cross-functional Sales, Support, Development, and Marketing teams to provide expert-level support for our liquid handling suite of products to end-users who are among some of the top labs and researchers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

We are looking for a personable scientist with a strong background in Genomics or Drug Discovery, and a drive to explore automation and the other applications in which our instruments are used. In this capacity, you will work closely with the regional Field Application Specialists (FAS) and will be responsible for maintaining close contact with our existing customers, to ensure the customers feel well supported and that they are maximizing their instruments potential. You will discuss high-level application requirements with the customer and arrange online and in-person meetings with the local FAS as applicable. This will require a high level of understanding of the customer requirements and application needs in their field of research. This role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both our FAS team and our customer base.

Being that we are a global company, you will be working with colleagues from across multiple time zones and territories, requiring some flexibility in meeting schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain positive contact with our existing liquid handling customer base with a value-added approach to promote additional applications for the customer.
  • Utilize technical information (Application Notes, White Papers) with the customer to highlight additional capabilities.
  • Ensure the customer feels well supported and arrange online/in person meetings with their local FAS as required.
  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of our liquid handling products.
  • Maintain good communication and collaboration between other departments (Sales, Marketing and Support) and escalate when required
  • Collate customer feedback (product development, software, etc).

Skills & Attributes

  • Masters/PhD in a Biological Science discipline (preferable)
  • At least 2 years’ laboratory experience working Genomics or Drug Discovery, with a focus on liquid handling and automation being preferable (HTS, Assay Development, or molecular or structural biology backgrounds will also be considered)
  • Good understanding of genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.
  • Practical experience of genomics/molecular biology is desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the designated time zone for the region you will be supporting (US or Europe)
  • Excellent communication skills and amiable personality
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Previous experience of a commercial role in the life science sector is a plus
