Your Role at a Glance:
The Lab Chemist will be responsible for conducting water sample analyses, preparing technical reports, and supporting customer sites to ensure safe and efficient chemical treatment programs. Based in Kuantan, Pahang, this role combines hands-on laboratory work with customer interaction, offering opportunities to collaborate with Service and Sales teams in the water treatment industry.
Some of the Things You’ll Do:
Analyze water samples to ensure safety and quality, monitor water treatment processes, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Evaluate results, prepare reports on findings and trends, and recommend improvements in treatment methods.
Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet regulatory standards and eliminate contaminants.
Manage chemical inventories and laboratory supplies.
Identify root causes of water quality issues and work with Service Technicians, Engineers, and Account Managers to resolve them promptly.
Provide training and guidance to staff in laboratory best practices.
Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all lab operations.
Conduct regular housekeeping and ensure cleanliness in the laboratory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring to Us:
Higher Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in the water treatment industry is preferred; however, fresh graduates with strong interest in laboratory work are also encouraged to apply.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction.
Willingness to support Sales and Service teams during start-up of chemical treatment programs and troubleshooting at customer facilities.
Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to prepare clear and accurate technical reports.
Willingness to be based in Kuantan, Pahang, with flexibility to support other petrochemical plant sites as required.
