As a business development manager, you work for the part of the organization which focuses on selling food safety related consulting solutions. Growing your business and building positive relationships is something that comes naturally to you. You are someone with a strong client focus and curiosity to learn about their needs. You have the drive to generate leads for potential strategic partnerships and don’t shy away from achieving results using a consultative selling approach.
Main Responsibilities
You will be representing us as a world player in the B2B food safety consulting business. Additionally, you will be the commercial lead responsible for driving profitable growth. This means that you are someone who enjoys being on the road, meeting new people, and having in-depth conversations with all types of stakeholders. You will be responsible for:
Working with large national and international customers, preparing proposals, and managing the entire selling process.
Developing the business in the Benelux (and Nordics), owning the financial targets and results (net sales, profitability, costs, and forecasting).
Collaborating closely with sales leads, key accounts- and sector leads. You’re responsible for developing and building the commercial structure of this part of the organization.
Ensuring projects are completed according to agreements with customers as well as being aligned with team members.
Following up preparation schedules and ensuring it is deployed with the expected levels of quality and efficiency.
Guaranteeing the projects are delivered within scope for profitability in collaboration with the country manager, as this impacts the country's P&L and financial targets.
Preparing annual AOPs and forecasts, coordinating deployment, selecting and training new consultants and negotiating with third parties (such as laboratories and transportation companies).
Requirements
A Bachelor/Master’s degree in the area of Food Technology, Food Safety, Food Innovation or a food related field is a must.
Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Food safety and Operation management.
Understanding the importance of the technical side of food safety is crucial.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
You are commercial and a natural leader / people manager.
Experience in managing professionals is a plus.
Experience in sales is a plus.
Fluency in English both written and spoken, as well as Dutch.
You are based in Belgium or The Netherlands. However, this is a remote role.
