SmokeyFro is the online presence of Chris Rault, a designer, front-end developer, and entrepreneur. Chris prides himself on being a creative solution finder, working with clients globally to bring their visions to the web, focusing on building fast and efficient web solutions. He has been working on the web for 23 years and remains passionate about the ever-changing landscape of web development. His fascination with technology began with his first computer and has grown with each technological advancement. Chris is South African-born and has lived in various countries, including England, Argentina, and Brazil, which has broadened his perspective and experiences. Outside of his professional life, Chris is interested in permaculture, sustainable food farming, free energy systems, and primitive technology. He also occasionally speaks at tech conferences and creates YouTube videos.

The name "SmokeyFro" has a twofold origin: "Fro" refers to his afro hairstyle, a feature he has come to embrace, and "Smokey" reflects his passion for smoking, curing, and grilling food. Chris values a life of authenticity and has made conscious choices to align with his values, such as moving to his family farm and embracing a more minimalist lifestyle. His journey in the tech world started with a 6-month bootcamp that provided a high-level introduction to hardware, software, networking, and Oracle products, an experience that hooked him into the startup life. Over the years, he co-founded ventures like JoomlaJunkie, a Joomla template club, and NuVue Trading, an eBay business. SmokeyFro offers various web design related services, including web/UI design, front-end development, mobile optimization, and technical writing. Chris emphasizes building stuff for the web that's fast and takes pride in being a creative solution finder for clients around the globe.
