SkyDrive Inc. is a pioneering aerospace engineering company headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Established in July 2018, the organization is dedicated to the development, manufacturing, and sale of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, commonly referred to as flying cars, as well as heavy-lift cargo drones. With a mission to lead a 'once-in-a-century mobility revolution,' SkyDrive aims to create a future where air mobility is an accessible and integral part of daily transportation, addressing urban congestion and providing new solutions for logistics and emergency services. The company originated from CARTIVATOR, a volunteer group of engineers who began developing flying car concepts in 2012, and has since grown into a leading player in the global Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector.

The company has achieved significant milestones in the aerospace industry, including the successful execution of Japan's first crewed public demonstration flight of a flying car in August 2020. SkyDrive is currently developing its commercial model, the 'SKYDRIVE' (SD-05), a three-seater aircraft designed for short-range urban travel. This vehicle is being engineered to obtain type certification from Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), with plans to launch commercial air taxi services around the time of Expo 2025 in Osaka. In addition to passenger aircraft, SkyDrive produces 'SkyLift' cargo drones, which are utilized for transporting heavy materials in mountainous and remote areas, demonstrating the practical application of their technology in industrial settings.

SkyDrive operates with a robust organizational structure that includes development centers and test fields across Japan, such as in Toyota City and Osaka, and has expanded its global footprint with a subsidiary in the United States. The company collaborates with major industrial partners, including Suzuki Motor Corporation, to leverage mass production capabilities and accelerate the commercialization of its eVTOL aircraft.
