Requirements
- Advise students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies.
- Assist students in creating individualized academic and career plans aligned with their goals.
- Provide information on college resources, support services, and transfer opportunities.
- Monitor student progress and intervene with support strategies when needed.
- Conduct workshops and informational sessions on academic success, study skills, and career exploration.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to support student development.
- Maintain accurate records of advising sessions and student outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with educational regulations, curriculum changes, and best practices in academic advising.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Academic Advising, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in academic advising or student support services.
- Strong knowledge of academic programs, degree requirements, and student development theories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse student populations.
- Ability to create individualized academic plans and provide career guidance.
- Experience conducting workshops and collaborating with faculty and staff.
- Proficient with advising software, student information systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Empathetic, patient, and dedicated to student success and retention.
