Junior DevOps Engineer

Position Overview:A Junior DevOps Engineer at our healthcare startup supports the reliability, security, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure that runs production healthcare applications. This role is hands-on and ideal for an engineer with foundational experience in cloud and infrastructure-as-code who wants to grow in a regulated, high-impact environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Support and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Use Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure as code
• Assist with CI/CD pipelines for application deployments
• Monitor system performance, availability, alerts, logs, and events
• Help implement security best practices (IAM, least privilege, logging)
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
• Work closely with engineering and IT teams to support production systems
• Document security controls, infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Systems Engineering
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC)
• Working knowledge of Terraform
• Familiarity with Linux and basic networking concepts
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and Git-based workflows
• Strong desire to learn and take ownership

• Exposure to containerization (Docker, ECS, or EKS)
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, or regulated environments
• Scripting experience (Bash, Python)
• Exposure to security tooling (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF)
• Experience with CI/CD security or infrastructure scanning

Base Salary: $125,000
