About SIL International
SIL International is a global, faith-based nonprofit organization that seeks to empower local language communities to overcome the challenges that language barriers present. Since its founding in 1934, SIL has grown from a summer institute in Arkansas into a large organization engaged in language development across the world. With a vision to see people flourish in community using the languages they value most, SIL partners with local communities in 98 countries to provide language solutions that accelerate development, education, and engagement with Scripture.
