R&D Digitalisation is a young and growing team of Sika Technology. Beginning as a part of the UK R&D department, it has rapidly developed into a group that works on a much larger and more diverse scale: ranging from using traditional data science techniques to optimise operational efficiency along with state-of-the-art AI solutions to identify novel construction materials, to pioneering and managing Sika’s global R&D data platform Nuage.
Our operational Nuage team is responsible for maintaining and improving the platform. Nuage supports our global R&D function by structuring manual data recording, automating machine data upload, provisioning advanced R&D data analysis tools and democratising access to key supply chain data. The IT engineer role will implement, automate, secure and improve our access management solution for Nuage.
Your main tasks will be:
- Automate and streamline communication between cloud and on-prem systems.
- Manage, test and debug user access groups.
- Identify and fix security vulnerabilities in the access setup.
- Good knowledge in least one of: Python, Java or web development frameworks (HTML/JS)
- Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs
- 2+ years of professional experience with production software
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, ITIL, agile work practices and web platform management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent capacity to prioritise work
- Strong understanding of data security principles
- RAG and Jira/Confluence knowledge are highly beneficial
