ShortPoint began its journey in 2013, initially as a remote start-up founded in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Driven by CEO Sami AlSayyed's passion for web design and a desire to simplify the often tedious process of revamping web pages, ShortPoint was conceived as a 'cheat code' for website customization. The core idea was to develop a software that would empower users to design and build engaging intranet sites without needing any coding expertise. This vision quickly resonated, and by October 2015, the company was already generating revenue. A significant milestone was reached in 2016 when ShortPoint moved out of its beta phase and released ShortPoint for SharePoint 2016 (on-premise), introducing a new editing experience, animations, and hover effects, along with a groundbreaking copy and paste functionality for SharePoint. This was also the year ShortPoint was listed on the SAP Platform.

The company's growth continued, and in 2019, ShortPoint Inc. was officially formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, marking a new chapter in its expansion. Despite its US incorporation, ShortPoint has maintained and expanded its global, remote-first workforce, with additional offices in Ukraine and the UK, and team members collaborating from various countries across Europe and Asia. This distributed model is a cornerstone of ShortPoint's culture, fostering an environment of growth and providing opportunities regardless of physical location. Today, ShortPoint is a globally recognized company, trusted by over 1,500 organizations worldwide, including major names like NASA, General Electric, PwC, and Epson. Their intranet design technology touches the lives of more than 6 million users, helping companies deepen connections and boost productivity by making intranet design accessible, cost-effective, and rapid.
