The Technical Director, ERP Programs leads the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational governance of enterprise ERP programs with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud ERP and adjacent enterprise platforms. This role is accountable for translating business strategy into a scalable ERP architecture, driving large transformation programs from planning through stabilization, and ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned to enterprise operating models.

This leader serves as the enterprise owner for major Oracle Cloud ERP initiatives, overseeing solution design, integrations, environments, release governance, implementation partners, and value realization. The role requires strong command of Oracle ERP Cloud architecture across core finance, procurement, projects, supply chain, and integration domains, as well as the ability to guide executive stakeholders through complex transformation decisions.

A successful candidate brings deep experience in defense and manufacturing environments where compliance, traceability, engineering change, supply chain resilience, and program-based cost control are essential. Success in this role results in a modern, reliable ERP landscape that improves operational execution, data quality, cross-functional decision-making, and business scalability.

ERP Program Strategy & Ownership

  • Develop and execute the multi-year roadmap for Oracle Cloud ERP programs, aligning platform capabilities to company growth, operational objectives, compliance obligations, and digital transformation priorities.
    * Serve as program owner for enterprise Oracle Cloud ERP initiatives across strategy, solution definition, implementation, deployment, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
    * Partner with executive stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT to define priorities, sequence releases, and govern scope, budget, risks, and value realization.
    * Participate in program governance structures, steering committees, decision forums, and executive reporting for large-scale ERP transformation efforts as the technical leader.
Oracle Cloud Architecture & Solution Leadership
    * Define end-to-end Oracle Cloud ERP architecture spanning Financials, Procurement, Projects, Supply Chain, and related integrations to ensure scalability, security, and supportability. [web:7][web:10][web:11]
    * Oversee technical configuration, extension strategy, environment design, data flows, and integration patterns using APIs, middleware, and Oracle Integration Cloud or comparable platforms.
    * Lead architecture reviews and design governance to ensure solutions meet business requirements while minimizing customization, controlling technical debt, and maintaining upgrade readiness.
    * Drive standards for data quality, master data governance, testing discipline, cutover readiness, and post-go-live support across the ERP landscape.
    Defense Manufacturing Enablement
    * Ensure ERP program designs support defense and manufacturing operating requirements such as program-centric cost tracking, production control, engineering change traceability, supply chain visibility, and audit-ready process governance.
    * Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, contracts, and compliance teams to align ERP capabilities with regulated business processes and security-sensitive environments.
    * Guide solution decisions that improve plan-to-produce, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and record-to-report processes in complex manufacturing settings.
    Delivery, Partners & Operations
    * Lead cross-functional internal teams and external system integrators, ensuring delivery quality, milestone execution, issue resolution, and clear accountability across all program workstreams.
    * Manage implementation partners, software vendors, and managed service providers, including performance oversight, commercial governance, and delivery expectations.
    * Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing ERP program and architecture organization with strong practices in governance, documentation, testing, change control, and operational excellence.
  • 10+ years of experience leading enterprise ERP, business systems, or transformation programs, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
    * Proven experience as an owner or senior leader of Oracle Cloud ERP programs, including responsibility for end-to-end delivery, governance, and business value realization.
    * Deep expertise in Oracle Cloud architecture, including one or more of the following domains: Financials, Procurement, Projects, Supply Chain, Manufacturing-adjacent processes, and enterprise integrations.
    * Strong experience with enterprise integration architecture, APIs, middleware, and cloud-based integration platforms supporting ERP ecosystems.
    * Demonstrated experience in defense, aerospace, or complex manufacturing environments with regulated processes, traceability requirements, and cross-functional operational dependencies.
    * Experience leading large-scale ERP implementations with external system integrators and distributed stakeholder groups.
    * Strong executive communication skills with the ability to lead steering committees, influence trade-off decisions, and communicate risks, timelines, and outcomes clearly.
    * Solid financial and operational acumen, including budget management, vendor oversight, and KPI-driven program management.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in ERP transformation, enterprise applications, or technical program leadership.
    * Prior experience leading Oracle Cloud ERP transformations in a defense manufacturing or engineer-to-order environment.
    * Experience with Oracle EPM, HCM, CRM, PLM, MES, or data platforms that integrate with the Oracle ERP landscape.
    * Knowledge of program governance frameworks, release management, and post-merger or multi-site ERP harmonization efforts.
    * Familiarity with security, compliance, and audit expectations in highly regulated industries.
    * Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

We're building the world's best AI pilot. Our mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems.

AI pilots will revolutionize battlefields and commercial aviation at a scale greater than the self-driving movement reshaping our highways.

We’re building Hivemind, our AI pilot, to enable swarms of drones and aircraft to operate autonomously without GPS, communications, or a pilot. Our mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems.

Our Story

As a Navy SEAL, Shield AI co-founder Brandon Tseng experienced firsthand problems where intelligent autonomy could have made life-saving differences. He asked himself what does the military of 2030 look like and what role does autonomy play. The answer – AI pilots powering every military asset: aircraft, drones, ships, satellites and submarines.

What does the military of 2030 look like and what role does autonomy play? The answer – AI pilots powering every military asset: aircraft, drones, ships, satellites and submarines.

The lack of software and AI engineering talent from large defense primes presented an opportunity to start fresh and build the aerospace and defense technology company of the 21st century focused on AI pilots. And in 2015, alongside cofounders Ryan Tseng, and Andrew Reiter – Shield AI was founded to bring the best of AI and autonomy technology to the DoD and our allies to protect service members and civilians.

Our Values

Changing the world for the better is hard. The difficulty of operationalizing AI pilots is akin to landing an orbital rocket. When things are hard and you’re pushed to your limits, you fall back on your mission and values. Few things are more important, which is why they are at the heart of everything we do.

  1. Do what honor dictates.

  2. Live as a servant leader.

  3. Pursue excellence.
