The Regional Director is responsible for operational and financial performance in the contacts within their region. They will lead their regional management team to deliver contractual and business targets for each contract and ensure the highest levels of operational performance and customer satisfaction, whilst having strong focus on the health and safety of our customers and employees. In addition, the Regional Director will be part of the Environmental Services senior leadership team and will contribute to the leadership and direction of the wider business in line with the Transport & Community Services business unit and Serco UK&E vision, goals and plans. This will include creating and implement a strategy for business growth and margin improvement, and plans that create sustainable value for our customers, employees and shareholders.

This role will report to the Managing Director for Environmental Services and will be responsible for a portfolio of contracts of approximately £25m ACV employing around 400 people. The role will work closely in the wider Transport and Community Services business unit and UK&E, including Growth, Legal, Finance, HR, HSEQ and Serco Business services.

What you’ll need to do the job

• You’ll be an experienced operational leader with a track record of delivering change in complex and demanding environments ideally within the Services sector
  • You’ll have demonstrable leadership qualities and able to evidence how you have built strong relationships internally and externally to drive fantastic commercial outcomes
  • You’ll ideally be degree qualified or a similar post graduate qualification (level 5 management qualification, MBA etc) and have a relevant safety qualification
  • Strong analytical thinker with the ability to drive the strategy for the region whilst also taking a tactical lens when required
  • Self aware yet highly resilient individual capable of challenging and being challenged
