Our National Consulting Practice (NCP) provides consulting services to a diverse portfolio of clients including Managed Care Organizations, Medicaid and Medicare health plans, state and governmental health-related agencies, health care companies and providers, private equity firms, and health-related trade associations. They help these clients navigate opportunities to secure Medicaid program contracts and strengthen their Medicaid operations and financial performance. About the Role

Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Senior Consultant who has a strong knowledge of the multiple facets of child and family wellbeing system and a strong network within the industry who will play a key role in supporting the Child and Family Wellbeing division development within the National Consulting Practice (NCP) at Sellers Dorsey. As the ideal candidate for the Senior Consultant, Child & Family Wellbeing role, you are proactive, solutions-oriented, and eager to contribute to the division’s growth. You also must have a strong interest and expertise in the field, excellent critical thinking and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate the purpose and value of child and family wellbeing both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Divisional Growth and Success: Support leadership in carrying out the overall functions of the Child and Family Wellbeing division within NCP including but not limited to supporting proposal and business development; internal and external coordination, meeting facilitation and execution of client plans, supporting client engagements and deliverables and general support of any activities that are key to the growth and success of the division.
  • Content Development and Deployment: Work alongside the Senior Director and Associate Directors to produce content for selected internal and external marketing tools, such as Firm newsletters, conference presentations, website content, social media, policy papers, blogs, webinars and other idea that highlight the divisions capabilities and subject matter expertise. Seeks opportunities to build relationships and to promote our knowledge, skills and abilities to support child and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Project Management, Execution and Evaluation: Lead and manage consulting projects related to Medicaid, child welfare, early childhood services, and school-based health initiatives. Develop and oversee work plans, timelines, evaluative components and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track. Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and efficiency in project execution. Conduct policy analysis, research, and synthesis of best practices to inform client strategies and help clients mitigate risk.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, including state agencies, managed care organizations, school districts, and community-based providers. Facilitate meetings, stakeholder discussions, and strategy sessions to support client goals. Provide expert guidance child and family wellbeing policy, trends and practice. Identify client needs and develop tailored solutions to address complex challenges.
  • Strategic Growth and Business Development: Support the development of proposals, presentations, and business development efforts to expand Sellers Dorsey’s footprint in child and family wellbeing. Monitor federal and state policy trends to identify new opportunities for consulting services. Actively explore and identify opportunities to refine service offerings and new market opportunities.
  • Project support: Provide general support and help in various ways to support the team, an engagement and/or progress client sales and services. And will support overall internal collaboration and leadership. Work closely with internal teams across Sellers Dorsey to ensure knowledge-sharing and coordinated support for clients. Contribute to thought leadership efforts by developing insights on emerging trends in child and family wellbeing.
  • Other duties as assigned per the Senior Director.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services or other related fields required.
  • 5+ years of experience within the health and human services, or related, system.
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team handling complex and multi-faceted projects is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the multiple facets of child and family wellbeing is required.
  • Professional experience with working on complex initiatives that entail coordination, facilitation and synthesizing information.
  • Strong network within the industry is required.
  • Experience with project management and coordinating complex projects.
  • Experience providing consultation, training and/or technical assistance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong facilitation skills, comfort with public speaking and networking.
  • Project management and organizational skills and proficiency in learning project management software.

  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality, possess a professional demeanor, and exercise discretion at all times.
  • Schedule flexibility based on timing and requirements of the proposal.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Travel required.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for candidates is $80,000/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $110,000/year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 7% of annual salary.

Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time off, including an employee’s eligibility therefore, will be controlled by applicable plan documents and Sellers Dorsey policy.
