Scholar Rock is a biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and delivers life-changing therapies for people with serious diseases that have high unmet need. As a global leader in the biology of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily of cell proteins and named for the visual resemblance of a scholar rock to protein structures, the clinical-stage company is focused on advancing innovative treatments where protein growth factors are fundamental. Over the past decade, the company has created a pipeline with the potential to advance the standard of care for neuromuscular disease, cardiometabolic disorders, cancer, and other conditions where growth factor-targeted drugs can play a transformational role. Scholar Rock is the only company to show clinical proof of concept for a muscle-targeted treatment in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). This commitment to unlocking fundamentally different therapeutic approaches is powered by broad application of a proprietary platform, which has developed novel monoclonal antibodies to modulate protein growth factors with extraordinary selectivity. By harnessing cutting-edge science in disease spaces that are historically under-addressed through traditional therapies, Scholar Rock works every day to create new possibilities for patients. At Scholar Rock, we are on a mission to discover, develop, and deliver therapies to improve people’s lives. We are a biopharmaceutical company combining bold science with a deep commitment to make a meaningful difference for people living with serious diseases. Founded on pioneering science from researchers at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital, Scholar Rock is dedicated to enhancing the standard of care through innovative therapeutic approaches. Our unique scientific strategy allows us to selectively target growth factors, proteins that govern a wide range of biological functions, before they are activated. By essentially "shutting off the water supply before a faucet starts leaking," we aim to address diseases where these growth factors play a central role before they can cause significant harm.

Our commitment is not only to advance scientific knowledge but also to translate that knowledge into life-changing treatment options for patients who need them most. With a clinical pipeline that includes therapies for spinal muscular atrophy and other critical areas, such as immuno-oncology, we harness the power of growth factors in fundamentally different ways than traditional methods. This dedication to innovation, along with our collaboration with healthcare professionals and patient communities, positions Scholar Rock at the forefront of the biopharmaceutical industry. We believe in a future where our pioneering efforts create new possibilities for patients worldwide.
