At the heart of Scentre Group's operations is a profound commitment to creating extraordinary places that connect and enrich communities. This purpose has been the cornerstone of our strategy, growth ambitions, responsible business approach, and vibrant culture since our establishment in 2014. We recognise the integral role our Westfield destinations play in the lives of our customers and the broader community. Our DNA, as we call it, is central to our approach to business integrity and our Code of Conduct; it's how we put our culture into action. This ethos is built upon a rich heritage, drawing on over six decades of the Westfield brand's legacy, which was founded in Sydney's western suburbs in 1959 by Sir Frank Lowy AC and John Saunders AO. Their story is one of iconic Australian entrepreneurialism and has deeply shaped our company culture and the trust the Westfield brand holds in our local communities.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. We foster a workplace where everyone feels they belong and are empowered to contribute their unique talents. Scentre Group offers a wide range of career opportunities across Australia and New Zealand, and we are committed to providing a unique and sought-after employee experience. We believe in nurturing talent from within, offering pathways for growth and development across various facets of our business, from centre-based marketing roles to specialist digital and content marketing positions, and even centre management. Our sustainable business framework is balanced across four key areas: people, community, environment, and economic performance. We are dedicated to being a responsible and sustainable business, with a focus on community engagement, environmental stewardship, and strong economic performance. This includes a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with seven employee-led working groups actively identifying and implementing strategies to ensure a supportive and inclusive workplace for all. We also acknowledge the Traditional Owners and communities of the lands on which our business operates, paying our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and their Elders, and recognising the unique role of Māori as Tangata Whenua of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
