Canada: Intermediate Platform Developer

Job Summary:

As an Intermediate Platform Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain platform infrastructure, microservices, and databases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AWS and T-SQL, and is proficient in Python and C#. This role also includes participation in on-call rotations to maintain system availability and resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities :

• Diagnose and resolve reported issues with functionality and security
• Develop and maintain application code in T-SQL, C#, PowerShell, and Python
• Collaborate with application developers, quality assurance, and operations personnel
• Estimate the effort required to implement changes to applications and processes
• Administer AWS infrastructure across a range of services including
  • EC2
  • S3
  • Lambda
  • ECS
  • ECR
  • VPC 
  • CloudFormation
  • CloudWatch
  • EventBridge
  • IAM
  • KMS
  • Redshift
  • Secrets Manager
  • SQS
  • SSM
  • Elasticache
• Investigate and resolve alerts provided by various monitoring services
• Notify development leads of new issues found
• Identify and improve upon strengths and weaknesses in development and business processes
• Evaluate and enhance application performance
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripts, TypeScript, and GitHub Actions
• Maintain and enhance application observability
• Demonstrate new ideas, approaches, and knowledge to fellow team members
• Describe missing functionality to be considered as new features
• Document operations procedures and application output
• Architect novel solutions while following industry best practices
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability and quick resolution of issues
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies

Skills and Qualifications

Required 

• 3+ years of hands-on experience
• Fluent in T-SQL
• Knowledge of web application security and best practices.
• Proficient in PowerShell
• Proficient with Git and GitHub
• Experience using AWS
• Experience with C#, Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with modern development practices, including Agile methodologies

Compensation:

Compensation Range: $94,000-$104,000 CAD

Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. This position is not eligible for a variable pay component as part of the hiring range.
