Summary

Save the Children is a $1 billion NGO helping children in need in the US and overseas. To extend its US reach and impact, Save the Children launched its Mobile Programming Initiative in response to the challenges faced by children and families living in remote, rural areas of the United States in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the Mobile Programming Initiative, Save the Children provided funding to community partners to procure mobile units (used school buses) and retrofit them for use in delivering essential services such as early learning programs and healthy feeding to remote communities facing barriers to access. As the organization moves beyond the pandemic, its objectives are to assess the implementation and impact of these mobile units, the potential for long-term sustainability, and the potential of the units to support Save the Children’s strategy of improving kindergarten readiness and grade level proficiency for children living in rural America.

Under the guidance of a designated point person at Save the Children and the continuing support of a longtime philanthropic donor, Save the Children Mobile Programming is looking for a fellow who will utilize quantitative data, insights from the Mobile Unit Lessons Learned Study, fundraising pipelines and proposals, and other relevant resources to accomplish the following tasks:
