Saiia is an industrial heavy civil contractor serving power generation, mineral and aggregate mining, pulp and paper, and other heavy industrial organizations across 11 southeastern states. The company develops and expands industrial sites while maintaining complex facility environments. Its service portfolio includes coal combustion residuals management, heavy civil construction, industrial maintenance, mineral and aggregate mining, and heavy haul transportation.

Founded as Birmingham Excavating Co. in 1946, Saiia has more than 70 years of site development and maintenance experience. The company operates a fleet of more than 630 pieces of construction machinery and employs over 500 skilled workers. Saiia also manages landfills, industrial waste streams, site infrastructure, and capital-project sitework. Safety is central to its operating model, reflected in an experience modification rate of 0.62, daily safety meetings, ongoing communication, and industry-specific training. Approximately 90% of the company’s business comes from recurring customers. Saiia is part of MasTec's Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment.
