Role Overview:

Join our dynamic Program Management Office within the ES S&T Mission Execution team as the Sr Manager, Cybersecurity Project Excellence! In this exciting and pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our projects are executed with precision and excellence. Reporting directly to the Cyber PMO Lead, you will lead a talented team of project managers, driving the successful delivery of high-stakes projects that protect and connect the world. What You Will Do:

People Leadership and Growth:

  • Lead and oversee a team of project managers, ensuring they are empowered and equipped to deliver high-quality results on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure Project Managers are monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment to grow individual skillsets to be a high performing team.

Process and Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure Project Managers are capturing all project data in Planview to ensure up-to-date project metrics to feed into Control Tower metrics.
  • Innovate boldly to look for continuous ways to grow the skills of the project management team to be best in class leaders.

Project Delivery:

  • Conduct regular project reviews, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets and ES PMO processes.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for project-related issues, providing timely resolution and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction, while ensuring Cyber PMO Lead has visibility into necessary issues and risks.
  • Demonstrate project management best practices by leading critical Cybersecurity programs or projects.

Cyber PMO Strategy and Operations:

  • Serve as key thought partner in development and continuous maintenance of PMO strategy, processes, roadmap and goal alignment.
  • Own the PMO metrics to ensure they are continuously accurate
  • Proactively communicate and support operational reporting requirements in alignment with the Cyber PMO Lead strategic direction
  • May act as delegate for the Cyber PMO Lead

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Leadership and talent management experience across multiple teams resulting in high performing teams and organizational health
  • Experienced user of the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working under dynamic and uncertain business conditions
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ability to identify areas of significant business impact for improvement opportunities
  • Ability to interface directly with senior leadership to positively influence and lead culture change
  • Ability to execute operationally with the tenacity to push through obstacles and realize the desired impact in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in a cybersecurity or IT related discipline
  • CORE Professional or equivalent certification
  • Experienced user of Planview
  • Knowledge of agile ways of work (i.e. SAFe certifications or equivalent)
  • Experience working in both Enterprise Services and Business Unit environments
  • Strong Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (PMP or other relevant certifications)
  • Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach to decision making
  • Adaptable with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership skills and experience with cross functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience managing resources and multiple complex projects or programs simultaneously

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
