As a Principal Material Program Manager supporting Collins Aerospace’s Resilient Connectivity Products portfolio, you will play a central role in driving supply chain strategy and execution for a high-visibility, growth-focused program. This position sits at the intersection of program management, procurement, and supplier engagement, with responsibility for ensuring material readiness aligns with technical, cost, and schedule objectives. You will serve as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, translating complex customer requirements into actionable supply chain strategies while maintaining compliance with government regulations and contractual obligations.

In this role, you will lead supplier performance management, risk and opportunity planning, and proposal activities that support competitive pricing and program success. You will guide integrated product teams through material planning, cost forecasting, and logistics strategy, while supporting critical program reviews and gate milestones. The position requires close collaboration across functions to ensure accurate estimates, effective execution, and alignment with program priorities. From supplier negotiations and assessments to budget planning and material strategy development, you will have broad ownership and visibility across the lifecycle of the program’s supply chain.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage supplier performance, including metrics, risk, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute risk and opportunity mitigation plans aligned to program objectives
  • Lead supply chain proposal efforts, including estimates, pricing strategy, and price to win alignment
  • Serve as the primary liaison to internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and strong partnerships
  • Oversee material execution across the program, from supplier delivery through testing and final shipment
  • Lead supplier negotiations, including claims and requests for adjustments
  • Conduct supplier assessments and support supplier base development to meet program needs
  • Develop logistics strategies, capacity plans, and material priorities across the program
  • Resolve material, shipment, and data issues in coordination with program leadership and customers
  • Partner cross functionally to ensure accurate cost estimates, EACs, and overall program execution
  • Provide inputs to program reviews, including financials, lead times, and material pricing
  • Support gate reviews and ensure compliance with development and program requirements
  • Coordinate supply chain inputs for budgeting, proposals, and business development activities
  • Refine lead times, critical path planning, and bill of material development and analysis
  • Develop supply chain labor estimates and drive alignment to achieve price to win objectives


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Experience in supply chain functions such as procurement, material planning, production control, logistics, cost estimating, or finance
  • Experience managing suppliers or subcontracts
  • Experience translating customer requirements into supplier deliverables and statements of work
  • Experience supporting or leading make or buy decisions

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is preferred

  • Experience working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment and collaborating with customers and senior stakeholders
  • Experience developing and executing risk and opportunity plans and using data to support program or supply chain decisions
  • Experience with supply chain systems and tools such as SAP, Ariba, or Kinaxis
  • Experience with Earned Value Management or related financial and program performance tracking
  • Experience supporting development programs, production transitions, or complex manufacturing environments
  • Experience with international sourcing, subcontracting, or global program execution, including direct commercial or foreign military sales
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including leading cross functional teams and driving performance through metrics
  • Familiarity with Collins Aerospace systems, processes, and procedures
  • Relevant certification in Material Program Management, Program Management, or equivalent

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
