The RTX Product Cybersecurity Center (PCsC) provides a varied set of product cybersecurity services and shared resources to all RTX businesses for the protection of the warfighter, commercial air travelers and our customers by enabling them to continuously improve the cybersecurity posture of their products, systems and solutions. The PCsC Services and Training Team offers a variety of services and training to programs in all Business Units, spanning all stages of the product lifecycle. Our mission is to provide services, enablers, training and expertise to RTX Business Units for securely designing, building and assessing the cybersecurity of products.

The PCsC Services and Training Team is comprised of two smaller teams. The secure development team provides program consultation and training to enable RTX to build secure products by focusing on Agile/DevSecOps methodologies. The cyber assessments team works to proactively reduce the cybersecurity risks of our products and services through program consultation and training.

There is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer, Cyber Engineering reporting to the Services and Training director. The engineer will support the Services and Training Team director, and team leads in executing the mission. Tasks include supporting budgeting, planning, metrics, process development and reporting. The engineer may also get involved in services and training delivery within the teams.

This is a fulltime remote position

What You Will Do

The primary responsibilities for the engineer will be to support the Services and Training director and services teams in executing the mission.

  • Support budget planning and management
  • Support the development of Open-Source policies, processes and enablers
  • Support the development of Open-Source training for management and engineering
  • Support process development and implementation
  • Define and report metrics
  • Interface with other PCsC teams
  • Support training and service delivery management and reporting
  • Support the development of Open-Source policies, processes and enablers
  • Support the development of Open-Source training for management and engineering
  • Ability to work remotely most of the time and to travel to sites for program engagements and training (estimated at ~10%)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Experience in Software Engineering and/or Cybersecurity
  • Leadership experience such as Integrated Product Team Lead ( IPTL), software lead, LSE
  • Experience with budgeting and planning
  • Experience in DevSecOps and/or Cybersecurity methodologies
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Located within one hour drive to an RTX facility
  • Strongly Preferred Good technical writing skills and experience (white papers, trade studies, process enablers, learning materials, presentations)
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Test and/or Software Lifecycle activities
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., Systems Engineering, Systems Test, Cybersecurity, Software)
  • Experience developing security architectures and implementing security requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with platform and software assessment tools and platforms such as Ghidra, Ida Pro, gdb, Trellix Malware Analysis
  • Experience in developing and delivering technical training
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills

Principal Cybersecurity Engineer P4

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
