Raytheon Indianapolis is expanding! We have an immediate opportunity for a collaborative and skilled Deputy Systems Engineering Product Owner to join our Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) team. We are looking for innovative thinkers who want to work with emerging technologies on tactical defense solutions recognized around the world.
The Deputy Systems Engineering Product Owner will support the V-22 sustainment effort, focusing on next-generation avionics, software development, and data integration to meet our customers' needs for rapid capability integration, enhanced safety, digital interoperability, and communications.
This role will represent the Raytheon team in meetings and at events with the Government and other contractors involved in the program. Additionally, the role provides mentorship and guidance to a cross-functional Raytheon team and involves planning and coordinating engineering work to support the ongoing sustainment of the V-22 program, including the addition of new enhancements and capabilities. This is a full-time, remote position in support of Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities(SETC) Team.
What You Will Do
- Manage engineering solutions that meet customer requirements within cost, schedule, and quality constraints.
- Execute product owner duties, including backlog development and management.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with various levels of management, customers, and team members
- Mentor team members and clarify program vision and requirements
- Identify and eliminate obstacles
- Perform Product Owner responsibilities
- Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to address resourcing and technical challenges
- Help manage solutions that meet customer requirements within cost, schedule, and quality constraints
- in the development and documentation of requirements and interfaces, and perform design analysis, modeling and simulation, system integration, and trade studies
- Provide support for system verification activities to demonstrate compliance with established requirements
- Integrate software and hardware subsystems to ensure seamless operation
- Apply a structured, data-driven approach to identify and solve problems effectively
- Contribute to the achievement of project and program milestones under the general guidance of supervisors and team leaders
- Adhere to established systems engineering processes and procedures to maintain consistency and quality in project deliverables
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience
- V-22 aircraft and platform support for sustainment efforts related to next-generation avionics, with responsibilities to include software development lifecycle phases: design, coding, testing, and maintenance
- Systems Engineering involving the development, derivation, requirements and/or verification and validation, data analysis, and integration of software and hardware subsystems
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
- Experience working with government customers (including the USMC and USAF) and standard Government deliverable documentation
- Provide support for sustainment efforts, with a focus on next-generation avionics, software development, and data integration
- Knowledge of capability integration, enhanced safety, digital interoperability, and effective communications to address customer needs
- Experience representing engineering teams in technical meetings and events with Government and other contractors involved in the program
