About the role

As the Chief Development Officer, you will be responsible for driving the company's growth and extending our market leadership. This strategic role involves formulating robust business strategies, forging alliances, identifying new business opportunities, and leading cross-functional teams. We're seeking a Chief Development Officer to spearhead our strategic growth initiatives and help shape the future of retail. You’ll have an opportunity to be a part of a team that is revolutionizing retail by creating an entirely new channel and work at the ground level for a game changing B2B service in its early stages.

Responsibilities

  • Set the overarching sales and commercial strategy for the business

  • Maintain relationships with existing retail customers and build a best-in-class engagement and communication strategy

  • Identify high value target customers through an extensive network, facilitate connections and manage the extensive pipeline of inbound prospective customers

  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals inline with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics

  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals

  • Work on, optimize, and present new business model blueprints

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for business growth and expansion

  • Oversee marketing and sales initiatives to drive revenue growth

  • Lead new market entry or expansion efforts, including feasibility studies and market research

  • Guide the development of new features or services, keeping a keen eye on customer needs and industry trends

  • Foster relationships with investors, partners, and stakeholders

  • Collaborate with the rest of the C-suite to align company-wide growth objectives

Requirements

  • Proven track-record with ability to multitask on complex projects

  • 10+ years working in Business Development at recognized and leading brands

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or other related fields

  • A willingness to work with the same spirit for long hours and meeting project deadlines

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills

  • Leadership and managerial skills are a must

Preferred

  • MBA is a plus

  • Managerial experience leading teams

  • Experience with robotics for retail and/or checkout-free stores a strong advantage
