We're Road Scholar, the not-for-profit leader in educational travel for adults. Founded in 1975 as Elderhostel, we've spent decades inspiring adults to learn, discover, and travel. Our mission is simple: to foster a diverse community of knowledge seekers and explorers, united in the belief that lifelong learning is a vital part of overall well-being. We believe in living life to the fullest at every age by experiencing the world, not just looking at it.

We offer thousands of learning adventures in nearly 100 countries and throughout the United States. From the start, we've been dedicated to providing experiential learning opportunities that engage expert instructors, provide extraordinary access, and stimulate discourse and friendship. As a not-for-profit, we put learning first in our decision-making, keeping costs low and offering valuable programs that aren't driven by revenue.
