About Ritual

Ritual is a personal health brand that is raising the bar for daily wellness. Known for our best-selling, clinically backed prenatal, we create science-backed supplements with transparency at their core. We believe women deserve products they can trust, backed by real evidence—not just promises.

We started by reinventing the multivitamin with the first visible supply chain of its kind. Today, we’re expanding into new categories with the same high standards that built our reputation. Hundreds of thousands trust Ritual, and we’re growing fast.

Our team of 120+ scientists, creatives, and skeptics is raising the bar for women’s health. We’re venture-backed, based in sunny Los Angeles, and always looking for people ready to challenge the industry—and do the best work of their careers.

About the role
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal & People Ops Specialist to support Ritual’s Legal and People teams. Reporting to the Director of Legal, this role sits at the intersection of HR, compliance, and legal operations—ensuring strong infrastructure, seamless processes, and a high standard of confidentiality and care.

You will play a critical role in managing documentation and processes across both the Legal and People departments. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively across sensitive employee and legal matters.

What you'll do

People Operations

  • Support HR administration activities including maintenance of employee records, support for HRIS data integrity, creation and processing of employee lifecycle documentation (i.e., change letters, compliance records, performance documentation, etc)
  • Monitor and maintain internal employee investigation and complaint tracking systems (e.g., ER tracker, anonymous ethics hotline or similar tools), with professionalism and discretion
  • Maintain HR policies and process documentation across platforms (e.g., employee handbook, performance management guides and manager tools), with regular audits for accuracy and consistency
  • Manage People Support inbox to intake, triage and route employee requests appropriately
  • Support special projects with Sr Director of People as required

Legal Operations

  • Own intake, triage, and routing of contracts, vendor agreements, and NDAs between internal and external counsel, identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase efficiency
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready records of all legal documents, including contracts, agreements, correspondence, and filings, ensuring accuracy and version control
  • Provide general legal administrative support (e.g. administrative workflows, scheduling meetings between internal stakeholders and external counsel as required)
  • Maintain and update Legal knowledge base on Notion, and shared resources for consistency and accuracy
  • Support special projects in partnership with Director of Legal as required

Who you are

  • Detail-Oriented: You care about the details—because you know they add up to better, more trustworthy outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: You build and manage processes that make things run smoothly, reliably, and at scale.
  • Self-Starter: You take initiative and move work forward independently. You bring fresh thinking that aligns with the team’s goals.
  • Clear Communicator: You express ideas clearly and thoughtfully—whether in writing, speaking, or storytelling. You tailor messages to your audience and make complex concepts easy to understand.
  • Empowered Collaborator: You work across teams with trust and respect. You challenge ideas constructively, co-create solutions, and move projects forward through collective effort.
  • Proactive: You anticipate needs, take ownership, and ask for support when needed. You keep momentum even without constant direction.
  • Trusted Partner: You maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive legal, business, and employment issues.

What you'll need

  • 3–6 years of experience in Legal Operations, People Operations, HR, Support & Administration for Legal or People Executives, or a related field
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple workflows and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Slack, Google Workspace and HRIS Platforms (e.g., Rippling)

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with or exposure to employment law fundamentals, HR best practices, HRIS systems (e.g., employee relations, people operations)
  • Paralegal experience, or exposure to contract management and legal documentation processes

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification listed above. We're committed to building a diverse team and recognize that skills can be developed in many different ways.
