Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS or other relevant accounting standards
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data
  • Provide detailed financial analysis, including performance variance analysis, cash flow management, and financial forecasting to support decision-making
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records, maintaining compliance with local and international accounting regulations, as well as insurance industry-specific requirements
  • Manage and optimize accounting processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices for operational efficiency
  • Oversee tax compliance and assist with the preparation of tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission in line with tax laws and regulations
  • Lead the coordination and completion of external audits, liaising with auditors and ensuring that all audit requirements are met
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, claims, and product development, to ensure alignment of financial reporting with business operations
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Support the Finance Manager / Financial Controller in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting processes
  • Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring the business remains compliant with financial regulations and best practices
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 3-4 years of post CPA qualification experience
  • Proven expertise in insurance accounting, including underwriting, claims, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and insurance-specific accounting requirements
  • Solid experience in financial reporting, budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams
  • Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to drive financial performance and process improvements
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, dynamic environment
