About Red Lily Health Board (Aboriginal Corporation)
We are the Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (RLHB), and we were formed in 2011 with a clear mission: to empower Aboriginal people of the West Arnhem region. We believe that our communities should lead the way in addressing the health issues they face. We do this by providing strong leadership and governance in the development of high-quality, effective primary health care services. Our long-term vision is to establish a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, ensuring that healthcare is not only accessible but also culturally appropriate and responsive to the unique needs of our people.
Our journey involves working closely with community members, stakeholders, and various partners to build a healthier future for the West Arnhem region. We are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal people by improving health outcomes and promoting well-being. This means not only treating illness but also focusing on preventative care, health education, and encouraging community health action. We've been steadily growing, transitioning more health services to community control, like the Jabiru Health Centre and the Warruwi Community Health Centre. This transition is a significant step, allowing for local decision-making and ensuring that resources, such as Medicare revenue, remain within our region to benefit our communities directly. We are committed to integrating Indigenous cultural imperatives in all aspects of our healthcare delivery, creating a supportive and understanding environment for both our patients and our dedicated staff. We're excited about the future and the positive impact we can continue to make together. [1, 2, 3, 11, 25, 27]
